Rio Secco Golf Club, set among the rolling foothills of the Black Mountain Range in Las Vegas, the Rio Secco Golf Club provides a world-class golf experience unlike any other.
This course, which was originally called Seven Hills, is owned by the Rio Hotel. The course is located at the foot of the Black Mountains and was cut through the desert and washes. The fairways are wide open with several sand bunkers in the landing area. The undulating greens are large and also protected by bunkers. The signature hole is #7, a 417-yard, par 4, featuring a dogleg left fairway that leads to a green cut into the face of the canyon wall. Butch Harmon, the swing coach for Tiger Woods, moved his base of operation from the exclusive, all-male Lochinvar Country Club in Houston to this facility in the fall of 1997 to open the Butch Harmon School of Golf. "Golf Digest" selected this course 7th on its list of "Best New Upscale Public Courses" for 1998.
